Ontem eu e o Rodrigo (co-produtor) fomos ao CAV (Centro de Audio Visual) pedir ajuda pra eles. Pra variar eu estava sem pique, logo pensava: "Ah mais um lugar que vai fechar as portas pra gente." Nunca estive tão errada em toda a minha vida.
Chegamos lá e mostramos o Art Book do projeto, as poucas animações que já temos, storyboards, animatics, model sheets e roteiros pro diretor do estúdio.
Ele logo virou pros caras que estavam do lado dele e disse: "Era exatamente isso o que procurávamos!". Assim que ele disse isso eu e o Rodrigo nos olhamos, do tipo: "Será?"

O diretor falou que estavam procurando uma série teen, ele olhou o visual do Escola da Insanidade e logo disse que era o tipo de série americana, que pode fazer muito sucesso lá fora. Ele gostou muito da idéia e se mostrou extremamente interessado no mundo deles, como vivem e também sobre cada personagem. Ele apenas ficou na dúvida se a série se passaria por 12 ou 14 anos, afinal apesar de não ter morte, sangue, sexo ou palavrões, tem uso de álcool e armas.
Terminando a entrevista, ele logo disse: "Cara, por mim a gente animava isso agora.". Mas aí que está, ele precisa conversar com outro cara antes, o Sérgio Martinelli, outro diretor. Inclusive a segunda entrevista será marcada pra final de Maio. Um SIM já recebi, mas estou bastante confiante dessa vez. E mesmo se o outro não aceitar, ele já disse que estou empregada, que poderei trabalhar lá com eles, ajudando em outros projetos.

Se o segundo cara aceitar, Escola da Insanidade será finalmente produzida nesse estúdio. E o melhor de tudo: Será produzida na mesa de luz, exatamente como eu queria e hoje em dia isso é muito raro. O diretor me mostrou o ambiente, é gigantesco e me lembrou muito os estúdios Pixar/Disney.
O legal é que terei uma equipe finalmente, e ele me disse que apesar de trabalhoso, seriam produzidos dois episódios por mês, basta saber agora em que canal passaria  claro, torcer pra outros países comprarem a série. Pela experiência do cara, ele praticamente afirmou que se fizer sucesso no Brasil, o primeiro país a comprar será os Estados Unidos.

Por tanto, é esperar até final de Maio, e terei a resposta definitiva pra todos vocês. Eu sinto que dessa vez vão aceitar a série.

Yesterday we went to CAV (Centro de Audio Visual, in Portuguese). For once I was hopeless, I thought: "Oh one more place that will close the doors for us." I've never been so wrong in my entire life.
We got there and show the Art Book of the project, the few animations that we already have, storyboards, animatics, model sheets and scripts for the director of this studio.
He soon talked to the guys who were on his side and said: "It was exactly what we were looking for". After he said that, Rodrigo and I exchanged glances, like: "finally will be produced?"

The director said they were looking for a teen animated series, he see the "look" of the School of Insanity and then said it was the kind of what americans like, which can be very successful out there. He liked the idea and proved extremely interested in their world, how they live and also on each character. He just was unsure if the series would be for 12 or 14 years, after all despite having no death, blood, sex or bad language, have consumption of alcohol and weapons.
Ending the interview, he just said, "I would animate it now.". But there it is, he needs to talk to another guy before, Sergio Martinelli, another director. An second interview will be scheduled for May. An YES already received, I'm pretty confident this time. And even if the other guy does not accept, he said that I am employed, I will be able to work there with them, helping with other projects.

If the second guy accept, School of insanity will finally be produced in this studio. And best of all: It will be produced on the light table, exactly as I wanted, and today it is very rare. The director showed me the environment and is enormous and reminded me a lot of Pixar/Disney's studio.
The cool thing is, finally I will have a team and he told me that although labor intensive, two episodes would be produced per month, I just need to know now what channel would show the series and of course, hope for other countries to buy it.

Therefore, is to wait until the end of May, and we'll have the definitive answer to all of you. This time, I feel they will accept the project of School of Insanity.
