Accurate Dinosaurs from Jurassic Park by Iguana-Teteia Accurate Dinosaurs from Jurassic Park by Iguana-Teteia
:icondonotuseplz::iconmyartplz:

Now this is something I haven't seen done before. I like what you did here by making the dinosaurs accurate to science. However, now that I see them like this, I am glad they don't look that in the movies as it would take away from the science fiction aspect. Even the Indominus Rex looks really good.
The color of each dinosaur looks good as they correlate with their looks in the movies and I like the poses you put them all in. In conclusion, this is a really good piece. It's original, stylish and, in the eyes of modern science, accurate. 10/10

Looks really cool. Maybe we could have had Ludodactylus as the JP3 Pteranodons.

I agree with you! It would be a lot better for the movie! Since they wanted a pterosaur with teeth.

I just noticed that Ludodactylus was discovered in 2003, while JP3 came in 2001. But I think there's a deleted scene where the characters discovered the scientists created a mutant version of Pteranodons. But I can't remember where I saw that.

Thought you might want to know that the triceratops in the first movie was actually a blue-grey with mud and dirt on it.

Wonderful Job. I've never seen all of the paleo life from ALL of the JP films done accurately before in one piece. I gotta admit, even the fictional I rex looks great and like a real giganotosaurus.

Great job!

Though one thing with the sauropods. It has been reevaluated that the nostrils actually began at the tip of the snout and continued into the nasal cavity. There you possibly could have air sacs.

Majungasaurus+Alanqa=Alanqasaurus
Argentinosaurus+Labyrinthodon=Labyrinthosaurus
Guanlong+Metriorhynchus= Metrialong
Parasaurolophus+Bonitasaura= Parasaura
Ostafrikasaurus+Microposaurus= Ostaposaurus
Pelecanimimus+Hatzegopteryx= Pelecanipteryx
Dimetrodon+Prionosuchus= Priotrodon
Limnoscelis+Coloborhynchus= Limnorhynchus

very good art and pretty accurate but i have to point that the average T.rex is estimated to be around 3,000 pounds heavier than the average Spino. T.rex's average weight is 10.5 tons while Spino's average weight is 9 tons. just saying....

There's no known evidence of a T. rex getting to 10 tonnes, actually.

There's no way T. rex's average was 10.5 tonnes when the largest known specimen is only around ~8 tonnes or so ;) (Wink)

Why is it that nowadays people give herbivorous dinosaurs such thick necks?

Paleoartists used to stick close to the skeleton shape when drawing dinosaurs (which is called ''shrink-wrapping''), but as time went on, they realized that this isn't normal, and that animals have soft tissue that thickens their bodies, including the neck area.

Yeah, I can understand that. But I still feel this might be a little too much. Not a lot modern day herbivores have necks that thick (except for things like cattle and buffalo). I know that these are much bigger animals, but their necks (to me) just look too thick than they should be. But hey, that's just my opinion.

:iconspinoinwonderland:
Properly-fleshed out sauropod necks end up thick because of their big bones, they are still restored with proportionately "less" flesh compared to bone on their necks than even ostriches.

See this: svpow.com/2009/06/25/sauropods…
and compare with these: www.skeletaldrawing.com/saurop…

As for other dinosaurs, the Brachylophosaurus mummy "Leonardo" strongly suggests a pretty muscular neck for hadrosaurs. And that was a mummy, a living animal would probably have been somewhat chunkier.

That's a cool idea, but I don't think that the Tyrannosaurus had those "thick" feathers
It's a big animal, so the skin has to release a lot of heat which would be difficult with thick feathers

So, you mean T.rex didn't have feathers or "quills"?
Reply
:icontoxical-toon:

No no, I think the T.Rex did had feathers, but not that much and not so close to eachother
Quills with a bigger distance could release the heath easier than thick feathers
Here's an image from the documentary "T.rex autopsy" which shows what I mean media-channel.nationalgeograph…
